Helping the business wheels to turn

Helping the business wheels to turn

Jonathan Wright sensibly chose the centre of Cardiff to open his café – bike shop  -  lots of active young people working in the city and at the university.

Jonathan also had the sense to realise that he needed stacks of cash for stock in the shop  -  bikes, clothing, spares etc, so it was logical to finance the equipment he needed, particularly the more unusual expenditure.

As well as catering equipment he asked for finance for flooring and bike racks, not a problem. We go out of our way to help and support start-up businesses.

We obviously made a new friend, as Jonathan said –

“Thank you for your support and bearing with us through the long opening process.”

Married man, Gavin Horton, didn’t feel sorry for himself when it looked like his steel works in Port Talbot was going to shut down, instead he took his redundancy and decided to make some lifestyle changes.

Finding a waterfront development in Newport, Gavin had it fitted out as a coffee shop. His plan was to purchase the property and to ask Armada to finance the equipment he needed as well as the flooring.

We have been funding assets for start-up coffee shops for over 40 years. Obviously we are addicted to the fabulous aroma of freshly ground coffee. Macciato for you madam?

When Bethen Barnfield saw a redundant loo block and shelter at Ridgeway Common near Newport she planned to convert them to a local café, incorporating a loo. Some of her friends thought she was a little potty. Now that the café is up and running they know she hasn’t gone round the bend.

Bethan didn’t know whether an asset lender would help her with funding all the equipment she needed. Now she knows that financing new businesses is bog standard for Armada.

As Bethan said –

“Setting up a new business is hard but dealing with Armada was one of the easiest and most straightforward parts.”

Hobbs Hairdressing in Bristol was established in 1996 and has built an enviable reputation for innovative, creative design through television, radio and the fashion industry.

Always looking to offer his clientele more than your average salon, in Spring 2013, Doug Hobbs opened the Hobbservatory Licenced Café Bar and garden under his Park Row business.

The equipment supplier to the coffee bar introduced Doug to Armada and without fuss he was offered asset finance support.

“Having Armada Asset Finance has allowed us to invest in a top of the range coffee machine for our salon coffee bar.”

Drama? Not with the funding

Followers of the Broadchurch ITV drama series will recognise Ellipse Italian Caffe Bistro in West Bay, Dorset. Set on the front, overlooking the bay, Ellipse was the venue for a scene in the last episode of Broadchurch, as well as being a watering hole for the actors and crew.

This stunning coffee bar, with superb architecture and views, specialise in pizzas and pasta but beware, the stampede of ladies trying to get their fix of the amazing hot chocolate might overwhelm you. Check out the chocolate on their web site.

When Steve and his team were looking for asset finance support for their equipment it was Armada and their 40 years of experience, funding the catering industry, that gave them confidence.

“Armada were very helpful. The process was very easy, simple and quick.”

Beanz means machinez

Beanz means machinez

Robert Norman & Jane Dunford have been very successful at supplying coffee to their customer base in pubs, restaurants and a variety of commercial outlets.

They understand the sense of retaining their capital for growing the business. When a new customer wants to hire a coffee machine, they don’t tie their funds up in the equipment, they asset finance the coffee machine from Armada and then rent it to their customer, protecting their supply of coffee.

This arrangement with Armada has played a significant part in their growth.

“It is always a pleasure dealing with Armada, they have been a tremendous help and support to us in the growth of our business.”
