Finger licking franchise

Finger licking franchise

When Dietmar and his wife and children moved to London from Vienna he was amazed by the lack of quality retail bakers and patisseries in the capital. Back in Austria he had won so many gold medals for his designs and quality of pastries, breads, cake and chocolates.

So successful was his first venture in Notting Hill that he decided to open a school to teach the patissier’s and chocolatier’s arts. Having trained so many dedicated, talented chefs he regretted that he could not find enough jobs for them all.

When he got Armada’s agreement to offer asset finance for fitting out new shops he was able to franchise his name, style and management skills to his qualified apprentices, with his backing, where appropriate.

A tasty future, thanks to Armada

A sweet way to fund business expansion

A sweet way to fund business expansion

Is it the greed of politicians and city traders and the lack of moral leadership that is helping one retail group to be so successful?

In 2004 the first Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe opened. Now, eight years later there are over 80 Victorian-style high street sweet shops, packed to the ceiling with old-fashioned sweets we remember from our childhood. Franchising has enabled this remarkable growth to happen but it is our desire to return to old-fashioned virtues that appeal so much.

Understanding franchising and being ready to support new retail businesses goes a long way with franchisees of this brand which require Armada to arrange equipment finance transactions to set them on their way.

A popular family entertainment centre sits on the banks of the Avon not far from The Swan Theatre at Stratford-upon-Avon. Containing tea rooms, a pub, theatre and riverside terrace, the owners try to meet all the patrons’ expectations.

When they decided to produce top-quality ice cream they had the sense to call in the experts for advice and to acquire the best equipment for the purpose. John James of RSS Hereford has 35 years of experience and was more than capable of providing the exact machinery for the best product.

Having known Kirk Smith and Armada for 35 years, John knew that our equipment finance was exactly what was needed.

From landfill sites to waste paper recycling, Paul and his father before him have always been involved in waste management. Now Paul’s company focuses entirely on the collection of paper, sorting it and sending it off to be recycled into tomorrow’s paper.

For a successful company like Paul’s there is a constant need for bins, conveyors, balers etc. He knows that with his track record with Armada and our flexible approach to funding he can always ask for asset finance for additional bins or other plant and complete the transaction in a couple of days, allowing him to concentrate on developing his business.

Davron are a team of highly experienced, technical engineers who restore and maintain Aston Martins in their factory in Salisbury. When they needed to acquire a high-precision machine for engine restoration they turned to their local banker for the support they needed.

Although the bank wanted to support Davron, none of their facilities were appropriate. The banker, who had worked with local Armada Asset Finance manager Olly Nash for years, introduced him to Davron. Olly went to visit and the equipment leasing facility was put in place in days.

I approached my bank manager who, although he wasn't able to assist directly, was still a great help as he advised that the quickest and most efficient solution for us would be to work with Armada. Olly came out to see us and was brilliant from start to finish with the level of service he provided. It's important to us to work with people we can build a rapport with.

Gwynt Y Ddraig cider company, started in 2001 by Bill George and Andrew Gronow, needed a specialist microfiltration system for their production line, so why wouldn’t they come to Devon, the home of cider, to fund the assets to speed up production of their eight bottled and nine draught ciders.

Richard Gelsomini, Armada’s man in Wales, made immediate contact and visited the brewery to gain an understanding of the people and their business. Within days an offer for asset finance was made, the contract was signed 24 hours later and the suppliers paid the next day.

As Bill George said:

The whole experience has been superb. We are over the moon to have the equipment so much quicker than expected. I was surprised at how simple the process of getting equipment finance from Armada is and Richard is a pleasure to deal with.

Caring and fun are their middle names

In April 2001 we were looking for asset finance to help us fund Tumble Jungle, a children’s play centre in Kings Norton, Birmingham. We used Armada Asset Finance to acquire all our equipment, and the advice and support we received from Kirk Smith, MD of Armada, was invaluable.

After our water pipes burst over Christmas and flooded the site we called in Armada manager Olly Nash. He was so efficient and calming that we couldn’t wait to meet him. He didn’t disappoint.

We will always be grateful we found Armada, an amazing company who take time to get to know you and your business. We wouldn’t be here today without them.

Having been in the same offices in the centre of Exeter for over 30 years, Armada moved to a new prestige building in 2006, overlooking the river at Topsham.

With open spaces and the ability to site cabling wherever suitable, Vince Ware and his team at Business Furniture Group were called in to design the internal layout and supply all the furniture.

Six years later the original design has not changed and the furniture still looks as if it was installed yesterday.

Armada continues to work with Vince and his team financing call centres, surgeries, schools and serviced offices etc. We see Vince as part of the Armada family.

A track record you can depend on

So says the tag line on the website of the Beech Tree Inn @ Culverhouse Cross, Cardiff.

Back in 1997, when Anthony Armelin was planning the fit-out of Gilby’s Restaurant, before the change of name to the Beech Tree Inn, he determined that his new fish restaurant should be the plushest place in town: a venue for the ladies who lunch, a corporate dining experience or a must for the big family celebration.

With Armada’s support, Anthony achieved his objective and Gilby’s became the place to be seen.

We continue to support Anthony all these years later and whether it’s catering or refrigeration equipment, furniture or EPOS systems, a new start business or ‘been around forever’, Armada can also claim a track record to depend on.

The Old House @ Home, near Castle Combe in Wiltshire is run by the hard-working and forward-thinking Warburton family.

When, in early 2009, Armada was approached by the family to support the development of six bedrooms in the garden of this charming old stone coaching inn, we were delighted to fund the entire fitting out of the new accommodation, helping to give them the 5-star accreditation they deserve.

The Warburtons appreciated the experience and enthusiasm that Armada brings to the relationship. In fact, so strong has been the relationship and trust between the Warburtons and Armada that each year they look to us to fund their asset purchases for The Old House @ Home, The Northey @ Box and the Crown @ Dyrham.
