Hot stuff in Cardiff
“Molecular Gastronomy” is a phrase normally associated with Heston Blumenthal and bacon & eggs ice cream. According to Stephen Gomes of Moksh Indian restaurant in Cardiff, MG is the future of cooking.
Stephen is using MG to bring home the bacon on a very regular basis with him as chef/patron and his restaurants picking up national awards every year.
His second restaurant, Meluha, in Park Street, Bristol, which opened in April has already been awarded Best in the West of England by the Cobra Good Curry Guide. A third restaurant in Mumbai is due to open shortly.
Little wonder that Stephen is receiving so much recognition for his contemporary Indian cooking when both his father and grandfather were Master Chefs.
We met Stephen in 2007, when we supported him to open Moksh in Cardiff Bay. We are pleased to still be assisting him to grow his business. Hard working, creative and a thoroughly nice, genuine person – he deserves all his accolades and for certain you’ll hear his name much more in the future.
One of our friends tried to taste his food at Moksh this week – he is still trying as there is a waiting list.
More spice to your elbow Stephen.
