Add charm to your holiday
If you are passing through Somerset on your way to holidaying in beautiful Devon & Cornwall, take a break and a short diversion off the M5 to Glastonbury. An easy climb up Glastonbury Tor will give you a fabulous view across much of Somerset.
Once you have built up an appetite, take a short drive to Wells and feast on the sublime cooking at Goodfellows fish restaurant and café. Adam is arguably the finest chef in the county.
To walk down your lunch take time out to stroll around the 12th century Wells Cathedral and the famous moated Bishop’s Palace. You may be lucky and see the swans responding to their feeding bell on the wall of the moat.
Round off your visit by checking out the open air market next to the Bishop’s Palace. Lots of bargains to have as well as choices of cheeses, olives, meats, cake etc.
Armada has been supporting many of the retail and hospitality businesses in Wells and Glastonbury for decades. Time spent there will transport you back to an enchanted past. Well worth the detour!
